The BISP Kafalat Program is now accepting online registrations, and the NSER (National Socio-Economic Registry) survey has been restarted. Families who were previously deemed ineligible can now re-register and become eligible for financial assistance. The budget for the Benazir Income Support Program has also been increased, providing more support to qualified beneficiaries.
To join the Benazir Kafalat program, simply visit the Benazir Income Support Program office. A BISP representative will conduct the NSER survey, gathering information about your family, which will be stored in the data system. After the survey, you will be informed about your eligibility status and whether you qualify for the program. The Benazir Kafalat Program
The Benazir Kafalat Program, also known as the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Program, was launched in 2008. It has become the largest cash transfer program in Pakistan’s history. The program aims to provide short-term relief to impoverished families by offering cash assistance, particularly in response to the challenges posed by slow economic growth and food security.
Aligned with the objectives outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Benazir Kafalat Program currently provides cash assistance to approximately 900,000 families. Its primary focus is to support vulnerable households and mitigate the adverse effects of the economic hardships they face. The program plays a significant role in addressing poverty and ensuring social welfare in the country.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Benazir Kafalat program involve the identification of beneficiaries through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey. The welfare status of households is assessed on a PMT (Poverty Scorecard) scale ranging from 0 to 100. The selection of eligible families for financial assistance under the Benazir Kafalat Program is determined based on the availability of funds allocated by the BISP (Benazir Income Support Program) board, with priority given to the most vulnerable households.
In the 52nd meeting held on December 30, 2019, the BISP Board approved the existing Office Core. However, the eligibility criterion to qualify for assistance has been set at a 37 percent anti-poverty score, accommodating individuals from diverse backgrounds. This ensures that those in need, regardless of their specific circumstances, can be considered for support through the program.
